Are you an adult with learning difficulties and want to gain work training in horticulture, horse care, animal care or catering?

Ferring country centre provides a range of work training activities for adults with learning difficulties. Below you can see how to join the Centre.

 

1. You show your interest in Ferring Country Centre by contacting us

 
   
 

2. Ferring Country Centre receives your current FACE or Support Plan from you or your Social Worker (if you have one)

 
   
 

3. You and your parent/your carer visit Ferring Country Centre and an initial assessment is completed

 
   
  4. Funding is agreed  
   
  5. You have a trial day  
   
 

6. You decide whether you wish to attend

 
 

If no:

A reason is given in writing as to why you are unable to start.

 

If yes:

  • Service level agreement is created
  • A HAT Plan is drawn up by Ferring Country Centre with you and your parent/carer/social worker
  • Start date is agreed

When you start training at Ferring Country Centre you will have an induction, which will include health and safety training. You will also be given a Ferring Country Centre handbook and a review date will be set for 3 months time. In this review you will choose whether you want to carry on training at the Centre or if you want to leave. If you choose to stay you will have reviews every year.
