New Jumping Pillow

What started out as an idea, has now become a reality and reached completion! We are hoping that the bouncy new addition to Dales Farm, opening in time for the School Summer Holidays, will make each child's experience of Dales farm, reach new heights!

Today, a long term supporter of Ferring Country Centre, Simon Groves (www.grovessculpture.co.uk) was literally jumping for joy as he tried out the pillow after weeks of sawing, hammering and constructing. Animal Welfare Manager Bethany Budgen-Ashton and Animal Welfare Assistant Gavin West also tried out the newest addition to Dales Farm and gave it a thumbs up!

It has been a huge team effort to complete the project and lots of people have been involved; painting the old red tractor, constructing the shelter, levelling the ground for turf, raking the sand...the list goes on.

The addition of the jumping pillow means that from Monday 22nd July, children (over the age of 24 months) can have unlimited bouncing included as part of their Dales Farm entry. The £7.50 entrance cost will also include access to the animals, play/picnic area. pedal tractors, sandpit and digger and giant building bricks. Money from Dales Farm entry goes towards our Charity which supports people with learning disabilities and makes a real difference.

There are, of course, rules to help ensure the experience is enjoyable for all. It is not recommended that children under the age of 24 months use the jumping pillow, but we do have an indoor soft play area for children under 107cm to enjoy safely. You will need to bring a pair of socks to play on the pillow but don't worry if you forget, we sell socks, with grippy soles, in various sizes and colours, in our Visitor Centre.

The company who supplied the Jumping Pillow, have produced some rules of use, which are positioned at the entrance to the area. As the area is unsupervised by Ferring Country Centre Staff, we respectfully ask that everybody reads them and adheres to them, to keep the area safe and enjoyable for all. Parents are responsible for their children at all times, whilst using the pillow.Thank you and happy bouncing!
