Visitors News Right on track! We were enormously grateful to learn that GWCA Solicitors had chosen Ferring Country Centre as their focus charity and were delighted to welcome Malcolm Dickson to the Centre on 22nd November for a catch up. Malcolm, a partner dealing with personal injury and clinical negligence at GWCA Solicitors, brought a cheque for an enormous amount of money with him. As he strolled around the farm and stables with Sam Kirk, Head of Commercial at Ferring Country Centre, he explained how the money had been raised. Green Wright Chalton Annis also known as GWCA solicitors have been holding many events to raise the money which, so far, has reached £7,300! A large chunk of the total was raised by Jon Rogers, (Head of Commercial Property Team) who walked from Worthing to London Tower Bridge. That is a distance of 117.8km or 73.6 miles, which considering Jon doesn’t like walking made it even more of a challenge and achievement! He raised £4830 for his efforts, which is incredible. The firm also held a successful Race Night, where lots of fun was had whilst raising £1610. Along with other events such as a mufti day the current total was achieved. Malcolm explained that initially they were aiming to raise £5,000 but now they are motivated to increase their target to £10,000. GWCA have chosen to put the money towards a new go-kart track which is being planned to open in Dales Farm, next Summer. The project, which will start in Spring 2023, will involve some day service customers, who will help to prepare the area and construct outbuildings and fencing for the track. It will then be used for little ride on tractors and other vehicles for small children. The improvement will help to keep the farm up to date, offering visitors even more value and hopefully encouraging more people to visit or buy farm passes. Sam Kirk commented, ‘Money from the farm helps to provide funds to maintain the excellent facilities for our Day Service, so the more people we can draw in, the better!’ Malcolm shared some future fund-raising ideas that have been planned for the New Year and we look forward to welcoming him back, as the project develops. So, thanks to GWCA, the new track project is... right on track!
