Animal Care Volunteers Required

Ferring Country Centre is an independent charity that exists to support adults with learning disabilities. 

We are looking for Volunteers who are willing to be involved in the care of our animals on Dales Farm.  

Animal Care Volunteer- small mammals

Duties will include caring and cleaning of enclosures for a variety of domestic small mammals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets and chinchillas.

Animal Care Volunteer- birds

Duties will include caring and cleaning of enclosures for a range of avian species including zebra finches, parakeets, cockatiels, lovebirds and canaries and budgies, ducks, turkeys and chickens.

Animal Care Volunteer- domestic large mammals

Duties will include caring and cleaning of enclosures for a range of domesticated live stock, including a group of pygmy goats, micro pigs, pot-bellied pigs, sheep, alpacas and equids.

Ideally applicants will have some basic animal handling experience and husbandry knowledge of the animals, though not essential.

We are looking for volunteers to help during mornings (8:00 am till 12 pm) on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
