Sheep Shearing Thursday 23rd May, 2024 8:30am

Come onto the farm early, before everybody else arrives and watch our sheep be sheared, ready for the summer! Day entry to Dales Farm is included in the price! Under 2's free!

Shearing the wool off the sheep is an annual occurrence which helps to keep our sheep healthy and cool for the summer months.Sheep's wool grows continuously so must be removed to prevent over heating, as well as reducing the risk of parasites Come and see, first hand, how this is done in a small group. Our skilled sheep shearer, Holly, will demonstrate how she shears off the winter coats, in the barn at Dales Farm. Holly will be able to answer any questions about sheep shearing and the animal welfare team will be present to answer any questions about our animals. Be the first to see how beautiful our 13 ewes and wethers look after their haircut!

Don't forget to bring a camera for those before and after shots!

Money raised from this event will be ploughed back into our charity which supports adults with learning disabilities.
