On Thursday 24th November, the sun came out for a few minutes amongst the wind, cloud and rain, as if to shine a welcome for two special visitors. Anya Clayton from Rassasy Farm Shop and Deli and Richard Bush, a local artist, came to present a cheque for £405 to Ferring Country Centre.

The connection between the two? Richard, or Bushy as he prefers to be known, has made a range of greeting cards produced from his artwork and Anya has kindly been selling them in her shop with all proceeds going to Ferring Country Centre. Anya has supported Ferring Country Centre before, raising money with The Ferring Scarecrow Trail 2021. Rassasy is very much at the heart of Ferring village, holding events as well as selling delicious produce. If you haven’t been to the shop, it is well worth a visit and a warm greeting is always guaranteed. You can also shop with a good conscience as many foods are locally sourced and packaging is recyclable. A hamper might be just the present for someone special this Christmas. See www.rassasyferring.com for more details.

Bushy’s cards are also for sale in the shop at Ferring Country Centre and so far, have raised £624 meaning a total of over £1000 has been raised to date. He kindly donated the cards meaning that 100% of the sale price goes to Ferring Country Centre, which is very generous. The cards range from witty masterpieces with a fun Christmas twist to original watercolour and acrylic designs. Based in Angmering, he chose to support Ferring as it is a local charity. His work can be seen at www.bushybushart.co.uk or look out for his carousel of cards when you are next visiting Ferring Country Centre shop.

Bob Rogers, Chairman of Ferring Country Centre, also came along to say, ‘Thank you!’ to Bushy and Anya, and our donkeys Jimmy and Dolly seemed very grateful and happy to meet them too! The world is indeed a sunnier place when we all work together for good.
