If you happened to be in the area of the North Ferring Shops last Wednesday, 5th October, you might be forgiven for not quite believing your eyes! Two of our beautiful Cob horses, Rambo and Jack, were being fed polos and carrots by the Ferring Michael Jones Estate Agent team, outside their Office… on the pavement! Not a sight you expect to see every day when popping to the village shops! Paul, a representative from The Ferring Coop, kindly provided the treats for the horses and even local residents walking past got involved!

The reason for this happy scene was so that riders Michaela and Nichola could show off the smart new high visibility jackets that the Ferring Michael Jones Office have kindly sponsored. The jackets display the Ferring Country Centre Roundel on the front and the Michael Jones logo on the back.

The vibrant jackets will be worn by riders from Ferring Country Centre Riding School during therapy sessions and walks/rides around the local area. ‘Hi Viz’ jackets are essential for any equestrian that leaves the confines of the school. When riding on the road it is so important to be visible to other road users. Advice from the British Horse Society (BHS) recommends wearing hi viz clothing regardless of whether you ride on or off the road, the time of day, season, or weather conditions.

As a local business in the same community, the staff at the Ferring Branch of Michael Jones were keen to support this project and provided £250 to fund the jackets. You could say they wanted to keep everybody ‘as safe as houses!’
