Lesson/ Hack Guidelines

If you would like to be considered for riding Lessons, you must create an account through our online booking system and complete the rider information.  Once you have registered via the link below, you will automatically go on to our waiting list. Depending on the area of the Riding School you are waiting for there could be upto a 6 month wait or more before you reach the top. 

Riders must book a half hour private assessment before joining a group lesson or hack. This is not applicable to riders who will be joining lead rein lessons. 

Riders must be over 4 years of age.

The weight limit for our riders is 13st (including riding hat etc).

A correctly fitted, approved riding hat must be worn at all times when riding. These must meet the current safety standards. Hat hire is available for £1 and added to your basket at the time of booking your lesson. 

Riders are advised to wear gloves.

Suitable clothing and footwear must be worn. Legs must be fully covered with loose fitting trousers/ leggings. Riders will not be able to ride if they turn up in shorts or skirts. A shoe or boot with a small heel is advised. Wellingtons are preferable to trainers. Your lesson may take place outdoors so please ensure you have dressed for the weather!

We run a 48 hour cancellation policy. Any cancellations made with 48 hours’ notice or more the credit will be returned to your online account for future use. 

Beach rides are subject to tide and seasonal time restrictions.

Our horses are well schooled and well-mannered and experienced in all types of lessons including riding therapy.

Whilst on site, why not visit our contemporary Ranger's Cafe which offers; hearty breakfasts, delicious lunches and barista coffee with a selection of tempting cakes. You are also welcome to visit our friendly animals on Dales Farm, which is open to the public 7 days a week. The interesting range of products in the Visitor Centre Shop and Garden Centre is ideal for cards, gifts and plants, so come and have a browse while you are here!

We have hand washing stations available, for your convenience, when you arrive or leave our Centre.

On Arrival

On arrival please enter the stables via the big sliding door at the end of the gravel car park by the indoor school. Please wait here until you are called for you lesson, please do not enter the school before your session.

Please do not attend the Centre if you or someone in your household feel unwell or show symptoms of Covid 19.
