Job Description

As a Customer Assistant at Ferring Country Centre you will provide a friendly welcome, professional service and excellent customer care.  You will work across both the Ranger’s Café and Gift Shop team to help deliver a memorable customer experience.

 Hours worked will be 14 per week, Monday to Thursday from 10.30am to 2.00pm, with the flexibility to increase to 17.5 hours per week to include Fridays.

To meet the needs of the organisation you may at times be required to work outside of your normal working hours and these may include evenings, weekends, special events and public holidays.  Overtime opportunities will be available.

Experience of working in a customer service/retail environment and/or café environment is desirable.

Support Worker

Job Description

As a Support Worker at Ferring Country Centre you will directly support our Day Service customers, enabling them to access the Centre’s facilities and activities in a safe, positive and person-centred way.

You will work across our site, supporting Day Service customers in our stables, farm, catering (canteen and café), horticultural and classroom settings. You will also support customers to access, and engage with, the broader community, including activities off site.

Our Support Workers, alongside our Day Service customers, directly assist our commercial staff in tasks such as equine care, animal husbandry, horticulture and catering.

Normal hours will be 35 per week, working Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.00pm (to include a half-hour unpaid break). 

To meet the needs of the organisation you may at times be required to work flexibly outside of your normal working hours and these may include evenings, weekends, special events and public holidays.

This particular opportunity will be working mainly in our Riding School, so some experience of working with or handling horses is essential. 

Knowledge of learning disabilities and experience in a social care setting are desirable, though not essential.

As a Customer Assistant at Ferring Country Centre you will provide a friendly welcome, professional service and excellent customer care.  You will work across both the Ranger’s Café and Gift Shop team to help deliver a memorable customer experience.

We have two weekend opportunities available:

 6 hours per week, working Saturday and Sunday 11.00am to 2.00pm (with overtime opportunities)

or

8 hours per week, working Saturday and Sunday 10.30am to 2.30pm (with overtime opportunities)

Experience of working in a customer service/retail environment and/or café environment is desirable.
