About Riding Therapy

Due to the ongoing covid pandemic, and following the latest government guidelines, we are unable to offer Riding Therapy Sessions at the moment.

Riding Therapy is known to improve confidence, co-ordination, self-esteem and fitness. But above all, it is fun for those taking part.

We are the only Centre of our kind in the area, specialising in all fields of riding for children and adults with any difficulty or disability. This includes hacking, jumping and dressage.

We have a variety of people attending therapy sessions, including people with Down's syndrome, Asperger's, ADHD, Leukaemia and many others. Our riders range from as young as 4 years old to 84 years old.

With the help of our instructors, Customers and volunteers, our Riding Therapy participants can enjoy the experience of riding, giving them the chance to be independent. Our team help the groups with attention, concentration and sensory movement. Horse riding improves motor skills, self-esteem and confidence. Other benefits include muscle development, improved co-ordination and increased strength and balance.

Animal assisted therapy is integral to work with people with both physical and learning disabilities. Customers can improve their social and communication skills through animal contact, and healthy competition amongst their peers. Spending time with animals in a meaningful way can help Customers form special relationships with the animals, increase their levels of trust, understand feelings and emotions and increase their sense of motivation and responsibility towards others. We believe that this contributes to a continued feeling of companionship and shared experience, as well as language and speech development.
